Apparently this is a thing. Or should I say th{p}ing.

So I have noticed something amongst all the friends I follow on Pinterest: fancy, clever, funny board names. You know what I’m talking about right? Here is a random sampling of board titles from some of my friends:

“Places I dig”

“Books worth reading”

“Places I want to go!”

“I need a sewing machine”

“Things I want to eat”

“I should work out more”

“Go outside”

“Put it on”

“Someday I’ll make”

Pretty clever right? What are my board titles?

“Food”

“Party”

“Dessert” (yes, dessert gets its own board)

“House”

“Beauty”

“Outfits”

Lame city right? Why do I feel the need that I have to be more clever when naming my boards. The world is watching. Apparently I have to step it up.

So how did I improve? I named my exercise board “Werk it.”

Baby steps. Baby steps.

I know I’m late to the game, but is Pinterest taking over your life too? Do you find yourself saying “I found this on Pinterest” more that 15 times a day? Do you agonize over board titles like a nerd (i.e. me)?

As B has said, “this is probably the best and worst thing to ever happen to you.”

Happy pinning y’all!

  1. Oh I am too scared to get into pintrest. Part of it, I know I would waste way too much time on there and part of it makes me feel like a failure to my daughter, there are all sorts of amazing things that people pin and do with their children, but alas, I work 40 hour weeks. Have fun though!

  2. Don't worry, a lot of those titles are the ones that pinterest 'suggests' you use when you sign up :) It's so darn addictive, isn't it! It was a lifesaver when Oliver was little and I was BF around the clock, I could sit and pin on my phone to my hearts content while he fed. Now my pinterest time has been kinda cut back... I could probably spend all day on there if I had the chance!

  3. Haha! I have a 'Books Worth Reading' board - definitely stole the name from someone else... I'm not that clever. I actually didn't know you could make up your own board name for the first little while... I'm a little slow...

  4. I've given up on the titles. :o) I found Pinterest right after Mackenzie was born, like our first week home. SO, I was constantly on Pinterest day and night during feedings.
